FLORIDA----new death sentences
2 get death penalty for Fla. video game killings
A Florida judge handed down death sentences on Thursday to 2 men convicted of the brutal slayings of 6 people in a dispute triggered by missing property, including a video game system.
The victims were stabbed and beaten to death with aluminum baseball bats in 2004 at a home in Deltona, about 25 miles (40 km) north of Orlando.
Troy Victorino, 29, the convicted ringleader, was sentenced to death along with Jerome Hunter, 20, by Circuit Court Judge William Parsons of Daytona Beach, Florida.
2 other men convicted in connection with the murders had already been sentenced to life imprisonment without possibility of parole.
During their July 5-25 trial, authorities said Victorino had squabbled with one of the murder victims because he blamed her for the theft of his property, including an Xbox video game.
