Father of slain Greenville woman sues family of man who killed her
The family of a woman killed by an ex-boyfriend at her job at a Greenville
grocery store has sued the parents of the man who killed her.
Charles Williams is on death row for shooting Miranda Williams, who was no
relation, 3 times in the back with a shotgun when she tried to run away
from him in September 2003.
The victim's father, Gary Williams, is asking for unspecified actual and
punitive damages in the wrongful death suit against Charles Williams
father, Rodney Huckaby, and his stepmother Daisy Huckaby.
The victim's father said Charles Williams' parents should have kept him
from getting a shotgun and ammunition from their home and should have
warned the victim, according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit also said the parents were reckless for bailing Charles
Williams out of jail after he was arrested for assaulting the victim.
